Single Release: Tango in the Attic "Seven Second Stare"

We're extremely happy to be working on Tango in the Attic's forthcoming single Seven Second Stare, which is out on 30th November 2009 via Keep Calm Records.

You can download a press release, listen to a stream of the single and check out more information on the band HERE.

Tango in the Attic are a five-piece from Glenrothes, Fife. The band met as childhood friends and decided to make music together once they had joined University.

The boys’ live shows have gained them quite a reputation in recent times. Summer 2009 saw the lads play to a crammed tent full of bouncing festival goers at T In The Park. Further to their reputation on the live circuit, their song, “Jackanory”, was selected by national fashion retailer Schuh as a synchronisation for their latest UK and Ireland wide TV campaign. Not bad for five boys from Fife!

In a short space of time, Tango have established themselves as one of the freshest, most exciting bands in Scotland and are now fully ready to spread the word with the release of their single Seven Second Stare.

"They're young, they're fresh, they get sweaty onstage and they make an ace noise! Tango in the Attic combine Vampire Weekend’s sing-a-longs with Strokes-style riffing topped-off with a real emotional edge” - Vic Galloway, BBC Radio Scotland

Their influences are plucked from the best pop, avant-garde and east coast garage music from the last forty-years. The boys cite Paul Simon as one of their song-writing heroes along with avant-indie pioneers The Velvet Underground when it comes to instrumentation and arrangement.

Seven Second Stare is the perfect example of how Tango in the Attic blend these avant-garde elements and are able to easily craft a highly listenable, quirky and original single. B-side "Mirrorface" continues this theme, showcasing the band’s fun tempo riding along off-kilter beats and sing-along vocals.
